The Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) today confirmed that it will include the China Tour and PGA Tour Series China to its ranking system from 2018.
Both tours, fronted by the China Golf Association, provide pathways to the world’s biggest tours through their money lists. The PGA Tour Series China leads to the Web.com Tour – the PGA Tour’s main qualifying system – and the China Tour to the European Tour.
19 tours are currently recognised by the OWGR but the inclusion of the two new tours, effective from January 1st 2018, as well as the Big Easy Tour also due to be added, will take the total up to 22.
The additions represent a vast expansion in the system. 12 of the current 19 member tours have only entered the roster since 2009.
Both tours are introduced to the system with minimum point levels of six first place points for 72-hole events and four for 54-hole events.
