Places in big tournament pro-ams are usually reserved for the wealthy and B-list celebrities. At the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open this year, though, Rory McIlroy and the Rory Foundation are offering a place amongst the pro-am field to the golfer with the best trick shot in their locker.

“I’ve had a go at some trick shots in my time, some better than others, so I’m really looking forward to seeing what people have to offer,” McIlroy said via a video message.
“I’ll be choosing my favourite clip and inviting the winner to come and join us at the Pro Am at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open.
“The Pro Am is always a great, fun day and I’m delighted to be able to give someone this exciting opportunity to play with top golfers and rub shoulders with celebrities,” he finished.Embed from Getty Images
Entrants must post a video of their trick shot on Twitter or Instagram and ensure they use the hashtag #RoryTrickShot; the competition has already received over 100 entrants on both Instagram and Twitter.
The only significant conditions are that entrants must live in the UK & Ireland, be over the age of 18 and have a handicap of 18 or less for men and 24 or less for women.
As well as a place in the pro-am field on Wednesday 5th July – the day before the professional event tees off – the winner will also get flights up to the value of £350 and accomodation at Blackrock House B&B Portrush for up to two nights.
Fancy your chances? You have until midnight on Wednesday 21st June to enter. Read further information and full terms and conditions here.
